Fadhil Jabbar

Fahdil has worked as a geologist, team leader, and manager for drilling groundwater and test wells and as the director of the division of hydrogeological information in Maysan, Iraq. He has received a scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) in Iraq as a full time Ph.D. student. His current research involves using GIS-based and statistical techniques to estimate the impact of non-point source pollution in agricultural watersheds on surface water quality.

Andrew Keffer

B.S. Civil engineering, Marshall University PhD student, Geological Engineering, Missouri University of Science and Technology

Andrew works in the Geotechnical Engineering Section of the USACE Huntington District in the fields of soils and rock engineering, hydrogeology, and risk assessments and reduction. He is responsible for design, construction, and maintenance of relief well systems, and currently is working on a number of related research initiatives with the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and other Districts. Andrew is performing theoretical, modeling, and field research regarding relief well systems to lead to significant design and performance-related advances. Areas of study include partial penetration modeling and design, well efficiency modeling and formulation, and development of a computer program for well design.  When not working or studying, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family.

Majid Mohamod

B.S. Applied Geology, Tikrit University, Tikrit, Iraq M.S. Geological Engineering, Tikrit University, Tikrit, Iraq PhD student, Geological Engineering, Missouri University of Science and Technology

Majid has served as a geotechnical engineer at Al-Belard in Tikrit, Iraq, before coming to the United States.  His research focuses on analyzing remote sensing and GIS-based datasets for determining optimal strategies for rainwater harvesting in north-western Iraq.  Majid enjoys playing basketball and soccer, studying innovation and design, and drawing in his spare time.
