Dr. Katherine Grote received her B.S. in Geological engineering at Missouri S&T, then earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. She worked in environmental consulting in the Bay Area of California before joining academia.  She now serves as the program chair for Geological Engineering at Missouri S&T. 

Dr. Grote’s primary research areas are groundwater and near surface geophysics. She is especially interested in applying these techniques to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. She teaches courses in groundwater hydrology, physical geology, statistics, and current engineering topics.
